The Marsh Foundation School
provides a quality education for the students living on The Marsh
Foundation's Campus. Select students from treatment Foster Care as well as the
local community attend the school as well.
The Marsh School is a chartered member of the Lincolnview Local School system and is housed in the center of the historic Marsh Campus. Class sizes range from 3 - 10 students, so the students receive an education where individualization is stressed.
In addition to a full time Director/Principal, the school has 3 full time academic teachers, and art specialist, and a vocal music teacher. Each student also takes weekly piano lessons and two recitals are presented each year.
Each classroom is staffed with a trained behavioral specialist to assist the teacher. These individuals, called School Family-Teachers, are employed through the group homes to help provide a bridge between school and home. The School Family-Teacher monitors the students behaviors, attempts to shape behaviors, and assists with general academic functions.
Our students benefit from outside programs such as DARE and Solid Source. These help teach our students to resist peer pressures related to street drugs, sex and alcohol. Our local DARE officer is a graduate of The Marsh Foundation and can readily relate to and help the children with some unique insights into the problems they face.
Within the scope of our school program we also have the ability to send students to other schools in the Lincolnview system should their skills and academic needs require it, including Vantage Vocational School. As a member of the Lincolnview Local Schools, our students benefit from the services provided by the Van Wert County Educational Resource Center as well.
